How is the Drunken Unicorn as a venue in Atlanta? Witchcraft, Danava
Zoroaster (latter 2 I'm unfamiliar with), will be playing there, but I've never been to the venue.

It's not bad at all. Stage is kind of small, but that has never affected the shows there negatively.

Zoroaster is a great sludgy slow doom type band. Very heavy and very LOUD.

i've never been there but passed by...

dude I think Witchcraft is cancelled this weekend...i read somethin on Blabbermouth that their tour is postponed due to visa issues or whatever...

DEFINITELY call the venue before u make the trip out there. I was really thinking of going and still might, but i'll call the venue too...

i'd rather save my energy for the night after..>FIREBALL MINISTRY at Smith's Olde Bar!!!

Decent venue. I saw a local band play there (Set The Pace: Not really my style of music, but gotta support my friend's band you know :kickass: )
And yeah, is sort of tricky to find, but its a very decent venue in my eyes.

Have fun! :Smokin:

I've never been to DU, but I've been to MJQ Concourse, which I'd heard was right near or next to the Drunken Unicorn...or maybe it was renamed to the DU, since it was a loong time ago (for The Changelings' CD release party).

I'd expect DU to be hard to find, since MJQ was literally an underground club, with a nondescript entrance down to the actual club, under ground. :o

Basically it's across Ponce from the Cracktown Kroger, the back entrance of which is up the hill from the Masquerade.

What is Witchcraft comparable too and what are the other bands like. I might check this out if they are pretty decent.

Pentagram. Some black sabbath influences, as well as various 70s and 60s hard rock bands.

I've never been to the Drunken Unicorn myself, but I was discussing it with a friend of mine a few months ago. Her response "oh, that place is trashy!" I'm not too sure how trashy the place is so I can't give you a good description, but most people who I know have been there seem to like the venue so it's not trashy in a bad way, I guess.

i unfortunately did not get to see Witchcraft this past weekend in ATL...what a bummer.

I'm starting to really feel the pain of not having a car here.

I also missed Fireball Ministry last night (Sun.) at Smith's Olde Bar for the same reason...trying to get home on a Sunday night would have been a bitch. No bus goes there. Crapola.
