Have anybody some news concerning this release?
I saw on century media site that a DT best of is going to be released on the second of march :u-huh:

I saw that, too. I wonder if Dark Tranquillity has any say in the matter, or if it is simply the case of a record label trying to make some more money?

Yes, we had a say in it. Don't blame the Germans (this time). :)

It's not a be-all-end-all D.T. best of-album as such. C.M. are putting out "Manifesto" compilations for several of their bands, and they will be sold at midprice I believe.

Will this 'best of', delay the release of the new DVD?
I can't see CM releasing 2 different DT discs in the same year?

It's not like 2 different new releases: DVD will get way more promotion I think (if "Best of" will get any at all).

Exactly. C.M. will release this "Manifesto" compilation for 7-8 bands at the same time, so it won't interfere with the DVD release.

The artwork/layout is the same for all the bands - a band photo and some frames/borders. Looks good.

No unreleased material will be featured, we'll save that for the DVD.

Awesome, thanks a lot! The cover looks to hardcore-like for my taste, but oh well it's the same for all of the bands. Anyhow, I'll contact my German friend and ask him to get me the CD and other stuff :) .

Excellent, I can't wait to see the unreleased material you mentioned! Hopefully that will include new songs, not only videos.

谢谢 for the link :) .

Is this 'best of' only an EU release?
I checked the USA shops of both Century Media and Nuclear Blast
It is not available as of today -

I'm pretty sure there'll be a US release soon. An album is usually released first in Europe (at least with Nuclear). European versions are always better anyhow.

Is there a tracklisting for the album somewhere? I can't find one on the NB shop. And who actually chose the songs for this "best of"? Did the band have a say in the selection process, is that what Niklas implied above? I take no pre-CM songs will appear on the record.

Not that it really matters, but it'd be interesting to compare what they chose and what us "hardcore-fans" here on the forum consider the best songs (as rarely as we can agree on those).

The tracklisting can be found here:

* 1. Focus shift
* 2. Terminus (Where death is most alive)
* 3. The lesser faith
* 4. Misery´s crown
* 5. The new build
* 6. Lost to apathy
* 7. My negation
* 8. Final resistance
* 9. Monochromatic stains
* 10. Hours passed in exile
* 11. The treason wall
* 12. The wonders at your feet
* 13. Not built to last
* 14. Indifferent suns
* 15. Haven
* 16. The sun fired blanks
* 17. ThereIn
* 18. UnDo control

C.M. suggested the songs. It's of course impossible to pick something that everyone will think is great representation of the band, but I think this is a good selection.

Yes it's a good selection bur punish my heaven is missing for me :rock:

I actually like the selection also with the exception of the omission of anything off of The Mind's I or The Gallery (Skydancer lacks single-song friendliness, except maybe Shadow Duet). Oh well, I suppose I still might get it for the sake of completeness, but I won't be getting the ultra-rare Chechnyan version with the slight misprint of the cover (where Mikael's nose has seemingly migrated to his left breast pocket).

This is an OK list, but there are three CDs missing, TM's I, TG and Skydancer. What's up with that? CM is allowed to release songs of those albums isn't it? They did the re-releases, so why not include some songs here? I'll buy it, as DisplayofCharacter said, "for the sake of completeness." The list is missing a lot of songs, I wonder why the list only includes from the newest release (Fiction) until Projector…. I know it was CM who did the list, but still they should've added songs from those records. Maybe new DT fans only listen to those albums and so CM wanted to appeal to that specific audience? Poor us hardcore DT fans :( .

I will not buy it. I have every song DT released on CD and that is enough for me. Since there is not even a new artwork and I miss a lot of songs on the list that I would prefer it won't be added to my collection.
