DT: Score...stream an hour

Yeah man, it's wild. I still can't believe I was there, it was like a dream.
Where were your seats? I was in Row T, in the orchestra. Not very close, but since Radio City is stadium seating, it was a kickass view.

I wasn't there, so I can't comment on the performance, but people are just a bit too OTT about DT. They've done very little for me over the last few years musically. The last thing they released that thought was just better than average was SFaM. I'll never say they suck, but they sure haven't released anything as interesting as they did in the "old" days.

Hey, at least this thread started on DT, and didn't end up being about DT. :)

J-Dubya - Oh yeah, FII DID suck!!!!!

Falling Into Infinity is probably my 3rd favorite DT album, and I think their albums after Scenes are better than their earlier ones.

OH NOES! IT'S ABOUT DT NOW!!!!!11!11!1oneoneone

In all seriousness, let's be seriously serious here.

its cause john stopped playing ibanez...

No, it's because Kevin Moore left. Derek Sherinian is a great keyboardist, don't get me wrong, but I personally think that FII just came out reallynot good. (It's against the law to apply the word Bad to anything involving Dream Theater.

This, IMO, is probably the real reason....
I prefer DS to Jordan any day of the week.
C'mon Ptah, grow some hair on your scrote!
Call it like it IS.
You're allowed to call DT (especially FII) "bad"
You can then work your way up to "sucks" :)

yea you guys should check out Derek Shernian's solo albums they are all very awesome a new one just came out called blood of the snake.

he had yngwie playing with him and slash, billy idol, zakk wylde,John petrucci, and he had Al dimeola on the last two albums.

his second studio album was probably his best Black Utopia

But I thought chicks digged the whole shaved balls thing. Now I'm confused.

And honestly, I do prefer both Derek and Kev to Jordan Rudess. Jordan is just too... wierd. The B3 part in Glass Prison, during "Help me, I can't break out of this prison all alone..." It doesn't fit. My favorite thing ever from Rudess is the Continuum opening in Octavarium, because it has the psychadelic spacey element that Kevin Moore had. And Derek is just a really crazy guy. He had Lava lamps on his rig. Watch the 5 Years In A Livetime, in one scene, you'll see Lava Lamps ontop of his rig:u-huh:

Whoa, my thread is awesome :danceboy:

Ptah: I sat in orchestra Row M or O, something like 20 rows from the back...on the left, but I had a clear cut view b/c everybody in front of me was SHORT, thank GOD.

Labrie does sound awesome on here...I really can NOT wait for it to come out on DVD, and hopefully that new blu-ray thing where it's UNCOMPRESSED audio, that would just be the end all as far as I'm concerned.

I agree that Rudess is a bit strange as far as DT is concerned...I'm partial to Moore's albums, but the stuff Sherinian did you can tell he changed the band to a more rockish than progish feel and they did it with style. And Sherinian's solo stuff is awesome...that new album he has out is damn good.

Unlike Sherinian, Rudess doesn't piss on Moore's works with the band. Just listen to "Once In A LIVEtime"... Sherinian clogs just about everything with his piss-poor attempt at sounding like Wakeman.
Forgive me, I just hate Sherinian's playing from the bottom of my heart.
