DVD-Audio?

I was just about to pre-order Dimmu Borgir's upcomming album, and was faced with a rather uncommon option. The album will be released in DVD-Audio format a couple of weeks after the official release date, and costs twice as much.

I would like to hear opinions from people who has bought DVD-Audio albums before, is it really better?
Is the increasement in channels noticable?
Assuming that you have a reciever and 5.1 capacity.
Can I play the album on my computer using a DVD rom?

And BTW, the opener on that album... DAMN!

i'm not sure i saw the new arch enemy album has a free DVD-Audio disk, i think these are prety pointless as it must be just to listen to music on dvd player, what ever difference that makes...

Well, if you have a DVD player, then it doesn't matter much. It will probably play like any other CD. Only I was curious about the sound.
Will the music be 5.1?

Perhaps I'll just have to buy it and find out...
On another note, has anyone tried out SACD?
