Everybody over here had been so excited about this package tour featuring
TAROT
AFTER FOREVER
MACHINE MEN
ALL ENDS
FINNTROLL and
DIE APOKALYPTISCHEN REITER
coming our way. Tarot's very first shows in Switzerland, Austria, Italy, France and England, whoohoo!!

Due to an incredible amount of negligence and incompetence of the promoters / organizers, the Earthshaker Roadshock tour now had to be abruptly aborted, literally leaving the bands out in the streets, having to find their way back home on their own expenses. :ill:

Incredible, never thought that this was possible - with the renown and experienced Earthshaker team being involved!! Unfortunately, they didn't carry out the tour themselves, but chose another company to do so - obviously without due diligence. :zombie: Tour manager quitting one day before tour start, poor equipment (despite different contracts), no money being paid. During the first couple of days of the tour, Tarot and the Trolls didn't even have a bus with sleeping places for everyone! In Hamburg they got kicked out of the buses until the overdue money for the buses was paid by the promoter! Because of this delay, a show had to be canceled (although more than 600 people would have attended), the drivers just had refused to start the buses and the bands had no chance to get to the venue.

All the bands took every effort to avoid the cancellations and not to let their fans down. They played seven awesome shows for crowds of 400-700 people each time. Tarot, Machine Men and All Ends even decided to go on for ZERO payment, after the fees agreed to in their contracts had been cut right after the very start of the tour. :kickass: But in spite of all their commitment, finally they were sent home - on their own money. As the responsible company Metallysee seems to have disappeared into dust, it's not even sure whether the bands will receive any compensation...

It's such a shame that bands cannot be protected from shit like this!!! :Puke:

I heard about this, it's really terrible. It seems like the bands had to put up with a lot of shit and then things didn't even work out in the end. I'd really like to see Tarot someday, if some company's actions had prevented me from doing it like what happened here, I would be pretty disappointed!

I feel bad for you and the people who couldn't go, plus the bands. But, then again, a part of me can't feel bad for you, since you will get the chance to see all of those bands again.

If it had been a US tour, I'd be pissed as hell, though, since we rarely get a tour like that.

Jesus Christ! I was planning on going to London to catch this tour just to see Tarot. Unfortunately, my Fiance's visa appy came up and put me in a financial bind and I had to give the tickets away. Good thing I did not go. Actually, it was a good thing that I usually wait for the last minute to book flights.

if you want my humble recommendation: be sure to pick a FINLAND show of the guys!! From all I've heard here, the people there know way better how to do it!! There are 3 Tarot gigs within one week in August - just give it a try!

so will we!

Sarawi, I would LOVE to go to Finland. But, I cannot get off for that long a stay. I cannot just go to see Tarot when I would also need to make a pilgrimage to Kitee as well.

Though, going to Tuska would be nice.

Wow.

WOW.

WOOOOOOOW.

Lawsuits should be filed by every individual, and every entity, tied to this tour, against Metallyysseeesawsooshamalamadingdong. First of all, never trust a company who can't even spell their own name correctly! What the FUCK is that name supposed to sound like????

Well, in all fairness, there's probably nobody to sue. It sounds like the management company was bogus to begin with, so the bands wouldn't get anything if they did win a law suit.

It sucks to see people get done like this for sure. :erk:

There's got to be at least someone. It sounds like Earthshaker subcontracted work out. Which is one of the hardest things to do. The company I work for has had to drop a lot of subcontractors due to poor work. Whoever is was is likely in breech of some sort of contract they signed with Earthshaker.

Supposedly, Metallysee closed the cashbox, and are probably laughing their asses off in Brazil. Maybe they are even having drinks with JacK Koshick.

Metallyssee is in the news a lot lately, it seems. (see the Excess of Evil tour as well)

I'm surprised they're still in business at all, because they've had a reputation for being fuckups for almost TWENTY YEARS now. Maybe longer. (a quick Google search brought up stories by Dan Lorenzo from a 1989 tour, a Glen Benton rant from 2004, and I certainly read about bands blaming them for all sorts of shit throughout the 90s...)

I'd like to be a fly on the wall in the Metallysee office, just to see what kind of mess made all this happen.
Haha, probably you'd stick into cobwebs there, because it seems nobody hasn't hasn't stayed at the office for too long since January when Metallysee cancelled the Cumbsuckers + The Accused + Lyxanzia tour. When bands and managers on Earthshaker Roadshock Tour tried to call the office there was no answer. After they cut short the Earthshaker Roadshock Tour, they have also cancelled the Excess Of Evil Tour and the Midvinterblot European Tour which were about to start last and this week respectively. The Metallysee.com website hasn't been updated in three weeks. All the good old signs of going bankrupt are in the air... which is bad not only for Metallysee, but will also have an influence on metal bands' chances of touring on longer terms.

What I don't get it why didn't the guys at Earthshaker/Roadshock read the writing on the wall when it was getting harder and harder to reach Metallysee? This all could have been avoided if someone was proactive over at E/R.

As for the longer tours, I do not think it will be a problem. You will just have bands deal with reputable firms by carefully screening them. E/R did not do this with Metallysee.

Well, Metallysee wasn't born yesterday, they had been on the scene for over ten yrs and have organized a good number of tours and gigs without greater problems. Something unexpected must have happened during the last months when things started to go down the sewer. S**t happens. :hypno:

on the other hand, zapping through various Dutch, Belgian or even German metal forums, you will find that the fans can instantly name about a dozen tours that have been organized badly or even totally screwed up by Metallysee during the past few years. Of course, in hindsight it's always easier to put the puzzle together. Still I wonder why the Earthshaker team didn't react BEFORE the bands got trapped in that horrible situation - as they knew best about the risks of a package tour like this and even admit that there had been so many warning signs beforehand...

I can only hope that the seven shows played on the Earthshaker tour helped the bands to sell some CDs and merchandise to compensate for the money they lost :hypno:
