i want an ebow so much, they sound really great. but they're way too much $$$

I didn't know they used it in Closure - I thought that was just a bunch of layered guitar parts, each a note apart (or so Mike said on the Lamentations docu)...

In the documentary you can actually see Mike record the Closure outro lead with the ebow.

I use a an Ebow on my 7-string, and my bass guitars.
Makes for awesome texturing. I wish more people used them.

woudl the lil rails even fit on the lower strings. I cant remember the scale exactly but im trying to match the 2 in my head.

it works the same way. but thicker strings = easier to sustain.

i heard it was quite challenging, because the rails arent designed for a bass. i was told you can rest the ebow between the strings and tilt it sideways to get the string you want to play to run down the drive channel. But it doesnt work the same way a guitar does.

The trick i use for making the Ebow work on bass is
by pinching two strings closer to the middle string.

You have to have strong fingers to hold the Ebow
and keep the strings together, and give your left hand freedom to
move on the fretboard. If you can create an ebow bass
tone its one of the coolest sounding things ever..

If you have a 5-string bass apply this to your E by
pinching the low B string and A string to fit the gooves
on the Ebow. Its like a distorted cello with super bass feedback..

yeah they do. actually ur a perfect candidate. they dont have to pay you as much as much as if they hired an 18 yr old or something
