EDGUY: Entire 'Space Police - Defenders Of The Crown' Album Available For Streaming

What's sad is how many people put their opinion over Joey over the quality of MANOWAR'S work.......

If these songs aren't great, then you simply do not appreciate true metal:

And there is Jason's personal attack on people who differ from his tastes. He will do this every time someone says anything negative about Manowar (or Doom, or any of his most favorites).:lol:

I thought the album was fun. I'll absolutely take this Edguy over anything they have released in recent time. I put this in 3rd or 4th, after Hellfire Club and Rocket Ride. The lyrics are ridiculous on this album, but at least you forget how ridiculous they are when you're singing along to the good hooks!

I'm one of the few it seems that also really likes Rocket Ride; however, their best works were their early works, when they were not so much of a schtick band. Theater of Salvation and Mandrake was definitely their better period imo.

I reckon Jasonic feels about Manowar the same way you feel about Angra.

Count me in as really liking Rocket Ride. It is a fun album.

Josh always explains his Manowar stance pretty well, so I'll steal it.

The problem with Manowar is that they have great potential to make incredible music. They've written and recorded some great songs and they're all very good musicians. Unfortunately, "things happen" and their last albums have sounded god awful. You can still hear the potential so I don't know if it's Joey's ego getting in the way or what, but you're right, they are a great band and capable of doing great things.

...and then you get those last few albums, and it's all very confusing.

The difference between them and Edguy is that at least Edguy is in on the joke. Manowar currently makes hilariously terrible music and thinks it's the best thing ever.

I think there are more out there than you think, I also really liked Rocket Ride. I think those more critical about RR voice their opinions a little more

Hardly...........

If you have seen their setlists these past 10 years you will EASILY see that they don't think their newer material is the best thing ever.....

They don't even touch GODS OF WAR live.
They only ever play the title tracks from both WARRIORS and LORD OF STEEL.

Saying that MANOWAR takes anything seriously is like saying GWAR takes themselves seriously....

It's not like they NEVER put humor into their music......

Ever read the lyrics to DIE FOR METAL????????? (for example)

Anyhow, this thread is about people getting excited about EDGUY'S "Return to Form" so carry on...........

See, I'd like to believe you, but I have a story that involves Joey that I can't spread (tho' I'll tell you in private!) and it definitely colored my opinion on him. Not the entire band, just him, and he definitely takes everything he says and does seriously. Weirdly seriously.

I have tried with Angra. I have.
Just can't do it. Sorry.

Sad that they went the "comedy" route, did not purchase anything after Hellfire Club. When they started out they could have been the next Iron Maiden...
