el34s in dual recs

Well i tried wacking the winged c svetlanas out of my spare marshall in my band mates dual rec last night.

holy shit it sounds sooo much better, tighter clearer bottom end, more aggresive mids, and much smoother cleaner top end.

id reccomend everyone does it... NOW!
any one else other than strapping young lad do this? by that i mean you guys

We had a single rec at work that cam from factory with a set of EL34's and it sounded amazing. I always set Road Kings to use EL34's too, they just have so much more aggression behind them as you said.

In my Road King I wind up using one pair of 6l6s and one pair of el34s, it works out nice.

I'm using the simulclass 295 poweramp with my recto-pre.
that 295 used 6l6 and el34....perfect combination I think.

definitely not speaking to your DR, but with my 3Ch DR, EL34s are biased hotter than the 6L6 for the same setting. I run EL34 in mine.

EL34's rule, i was very unhappy with my 3ch dual rec 'till i switched to EL34's.
