electric resistance - dB?? level too high!!

hi,
my damn mixer doesn't have a -10dB pad.
i made a subkick with a speaker and the level is too high!!
isn't it possible to solder an electric resistance to the cable to reduce some level? there must be a really dumb and easy solution for it, isn't it?

so, how much ohm do i need to reduce 10dB?
