does it even exist? my friend introduced me to his band and thats what it sounded like... half killswitch, log meets techno... not like industrial, but trance.

so have they really created a new subgenre or does this type of music exist because i thought it was awesome, refreshing and new

lol @ nintendo core.

ok what about cyber metal? any good cyber metal bands? i think thats what i was hearing.

its a bit odd. there are so many offshoots of this same idea, metal with electronic sounds that its quite hard to move my way through it all. im not looking for bands like nin, skinny puppy, kmfdm, frontline assembly... but thats all im finding.

It actually is not called "Cyber Metal" or "Electronic Metalcore ," it is called Industrial Metal. Perfect examples of these are The Berzerker, (Demanufacture-era) Fear Factory, and Strapping Young Lad. And I like all of them :headbang:

There is also

Godflesh
meZZershmitt
Ministry
Zaraza
Red Harvest
Samael (Passage, Exodus, Eternal)
Aborym
Dodheimsgard (666 International)
Void of Silence
Woods of Belial

ah, well. ignore that lost post then...i dont think you're going to find any more of what you're looking for but good luck.

you probably heard a metalcore band like asking alexandria or attack attack. you could check out them and bands like i see stars, of mice and men, woe is me, the devil wears prada etc.

theres also a lot of melodic death metal that fuses trance sort of elements, the only band i can think of at the moment is disarmonia mundi.

industrial metal has NOTHING to do with electronic metalcore, are you crazy?
