ELVENKING To Record Acoustic Album

Confirmed this earlier today myself from their forums and website.

They never strayed from their Folk Roots, but this will give a whole CD of songs such as Disillusions Reel, On the Morning Dew, and Skywards. That will be glorious.

Whoa, interesting. Reminds me of what Opeth did with their Damnation album. Sounds like they'll be quite busy with the songwriting process, composing material for both the acoustic and next electric album :)

I absolutely loathe acoustic anything. But...for some reason this idea intrigues me.

I think acoustic is a word lost in translation. I think they're hinting at more of the slower stuff they do.

I could be wrong, but I think they've already written new material for this album and will continue to do so, with possible remakes of some stuff off WYRD.

Have you heard the Borknagar disc I referenced above? Just wondering.
No. I haven't. Acoustic albums or acoustic sets by bands don't interest me in the least. I find nothing special about it. Only that the magnificence that electricity provides has been removed needlessly. Acoustic passages or maybe an acoustic song or two on an album is cool. Love "The Bard's Song" by BLIND GUARDIAN and "Enigma" by AMORPHIS. But, an all acoustic set is contemptable to me. A total waste of time. Just my opinion.
