Thanks man, the snare is Slate 3.0's Snare5a, a lot of tweaking (more bottom/top) then another sample I have layed on top to provide further crack.

Since you have the old version are you diggin' this one more?

Personally I A/B the 2 versions and I think this one stomps all over the gentials of the previous!

I think this one sounds great
really "pr0" sounding
and great songwriting (i fucking love the intro)

Hmmm...well...I already had your previous version filed away in my "reference library"...looks like this version goes there too. ;) Sounds GREAT!

Haha really glad, I was hoping I hadn't messed up some levels by mistake, drums are slightly louder I guess, nothing immensely noticeable.

This is DFHS 1.0, augmented with Slate and a few other samples.

Remixed, but I assume recorded some time ago? Guitars are good, but a bit harsh/undergained (I assume this was when you were rocking the presence higher up on your Rectifier), though still sound good and chunky - snare is too loud also, and the vox are a bit goofy but overall not bad! Also, the guitars are a bit loud now that it's all kicking off, and the kick could use some more attack IMO. Can't really hear any definition in the bass, so it could use a bit more in the mids (between 600-1k, I'm really inexperienced with eq'ing bass, so that's about the most I can narrow it down). Sweet solo dude; a bit too much trem-picking/meedley-meedley at points (and that last lick is like-Kirk Hammet style  ), but there are some great ideas in there as well, and awesome playing!

Edit: I should mention I downloaded this pretty much right after you posted it (just only got around to listening to it now), so if you've updated anything, I haven't heard it

And I thought I was picky, Marcus. ;) (just giving you a hard time)

Ok, just downloaded the top version - and pretty much all my comments stand (though maybe the guitars aren't too loud this time). Again, good job man! But if this was one of your old band's songs, are they still performing it now that you've left, or did you never submit it to them? And is that you singing?

And Mark, what can I say, I tell it like it is, and I'd expect nothing less from anyone listening to my stuff! :D

Thats not me singing, they aren't using the song any longer and half the guitars on this are Peavey 6505, not too fussed on the guitar tone these days. It was recorded last year, I just wanted to re-mix it up to standard.

I could do yet another version but I don't want to be a pain in the ass bumping the topic each time with the "final" version :P

As for the solo's its a duel solo, the first is me and the second is the guitarist from my old band, so nuuurrr! :) hehe

Will post the FINAL version in a second!
