The Swiss band EMERALD now exists for 17 years and in the meantime they have produced 5 albums. They are known and appreciated for their trend-free, speedy Power Metal, rather melodic and powerful and with high vocals. Now, two years have passed since their last studio-album “Re-Forged”, which means: it’s time for something new!

Their new album “Unleashed” (playing time ca. 45 minutes) seems to be more in the direction of US-Metal. Not only because guest-vocalist George Call (ASKA, Ex-OMEN) joins the band with “Eye of the Serpent”. But now and then there are also some songs which are more like European Power Metal, which fit in very well with the US-Metal parts. In this production the guitars are more powerful than ever before. The band’s new vocalist Thomas Winkler (with EMERALD since “Re-Forged”) has developed his voice and thus proves that he can compete with the band’s former singer Jvo Julmy.

Hell Yeah! EMERALD - "Unleashed" is now "featured album" @ Darkscene.at! The worldwide release date of the album is August 24, 2012 and will be available on CD, Vinyl and for Download.
In 17 years of their existence, the Swiss band EMERALD released 5 studio albums. Amongst many great candidates, we finally found the perfect singer for our sound! Many of you may already know him! It's GEORGE CALL (ASKA, ex-OMEN)!!!

We are beyond happy that one of the greatest metal singers of our times is now a part of our band! It's gonna be a whole new experience working with a singer that lives overseas, but everyone who has already heard his amazing voice knows it will be totally worth it! Here's George's statement about joining Emerald:
"It came to be that Emerald were in the unenviable position of having to look for a singer. They thought I was far too busy but I'm glad we talked because our collaboration on the song "Eye of the Serpent" was, bar none, among the best songs in all of Metaldom in 2013. How could we not possibly further explore that potential? I met the guys, their wives and girlfriends when we performed together in their native Switzerland on tour some years earlier and we hit it off magnificently. We nurtured a friendship and mutual camaraderie which now takes one further evolutionary step, sprouting wings as we combine our respective talents and seek to take Emerald to new heights of Metal glory. Hail!"

Swiss traditional Heavy Metal band EMERALD will start recording a new album in November 2014. The band will record again at the Little Creek Studio in Switzerland with Producer V.O. Pulver (Poltergeist, Gurd, Destruction). The release date for the 7th Emerald studio album is not fixed yet. It will be the first studio album with George Call (ASKA, ex-OMEN) on vocals and Vania Truttmann on bass.

The album will release as limited edition, with a bonustrack and a patch and as a normal version.

Since their 2007 release „Hymns To Steel“, EMERALD have been part of the Pure Steel family. Within this productive collaboration two more excellent albums („Re-Forged“ (2010) and „Unleashed“ (2012)) were released.
The Swiss band has been around for more than 20 years now and is finally ready to present its long-awaited 7th studio album, in a whole new line up.

After the departure of singer Thomas L. Winkler it became really quiet around the band since the long-distance collaboration with the new American singer George Call (Aska, ex-Omen) turned out to be very difficult. After two years, EMERALD and George parted ways as friends. This collaboration still resulted in two songs that are now included on the new album “Reckoning Day” (plus one bonus track on the limited-edition version).
A more than worthy replacement on vocals was finally found in the great Swiss singer Mace Mitchell, who refined the remaining songs with his powerful voice and finally finished the record.

Those who know EMERALD, know what they will get with „Reckoning Day“: Pounding drums, heavy riffs and melodic leads, reinforced with vigorous Power Metal vocals with balls and a transparent but also very powerful production by V.O. Pulver (Gurd, Poltergeist, Destruction).

On the second half of the album, EMERALD integrated a concept called “The Burgundian Wars” which is based on the historical novel “Der Löwe von Burgund” by the band’s keyboarder Thomas Vaucher.

On “Reckoning Day” EMERALD celebrate more than 60 minutes of Heavy Metal in its purest form, which will leave no real fan disappointed. Superb!
