I think they'd look cool in a guitar with Black Nickel hardware.

Not on a guitar with black hardware, tho. That'd kinda look like those Dave Mustaine Deans.

The specs look pretty similar on paper to the EMG 81 and 60, it seems.

Would be much better if they were just an alternative model without having his name on it. I think I could do without the James Hetfield association.
But anyway.
I imagine the added tightness of the bridge pickup would be nice for slightly looser amps at lower tunings
