Endorsees Wanted !!!!! USA Hand Crafted Instruments

All I did was point out I didnt care for the guitars and they were too similar to Neals. You came back all hard.

In my opinion you guys had right to be dogged. When operating a serious guitar manufacturing facility you need to know of the designs that are out there so nothing like this happens. In fact I'd say you're kinda lucky Jackson and BC rich didnt see those. You wouldnt get a chance to take em down before ya went to court.

I am in no way threatening or attacking you but imparting some knowledge.

If you are going to be a representative of this guitar company you might want to learn to chill out a bit too man. What will you do if someone tries your guitars and say they are shit?

I persannly wasnt responsible for the designs they used. i tried to explain MY point of view on things, being just a player and not having designed them, i figured it was just a feeble attempt by you guys to start shit, which happens ever so often on these forums. After looking into it more i realised you had a legitimate gripe and i made my apologies.

I am sorry for all this and caliber and i are doing what we can to make sure this doesnt happen again.

as it stands at this very moment, I have learned of even more guitar companies today that i had not heard of, most of them small like us, with a few completes, I totally understand the whole lets protect our friend trip, I probly would have done the same, but I would have used a little more diplomacy, as I am sure you have all figured out about me by now, I am planning on learning much from Neal, I have learned alot just in the last couple days. we understand what we did wrong , we have rectified it, now I ask that next time some idiot wanders in here with similarities that you walk softly, carry the big stick, thats fine, but there are many who would have given up, or made things worse for themselves. you guys are awesome folks after all the dust settles, you might wanna let people see that before they run scared....

aside form that...are there any recomendations for a first timer at NAMM? I dont wanna look all amatuerish, at least no less than I am.

The harsh reaction comes from having seen people/companies intentionally rip off small designers, and never credit them or pay them what they are entitled to.

I now know that what we have this time is a simple misunderstanding, and I am glad it's been worked out peacefully!

Cheers!

There have been a number of small designers intentionally ripped off in the recent past, so that's the cause of the heavy reaction when I believe it's happening again!

You'll have to be careful that your original designs don't get ripped off too. Always keep your eye out for that. With the internet, it takes no time for someone/company to scan it and simply pick off designs, knowing that the likelyhood of getting sued is very small.

I'm glad things are working out in a friendly manner.

Cheers!

If you're talking about summer NAMM, I, unfortunately, can't make it... I live in eastern Canada, and that's a major trek for me. I will be going to winter NAMM in Anaheim in January though. If you're there then, I'd like to meet up!

You'll see Neal and Earlleen, I believe, this time around.

Cheers!

I'm not into diplomacy. Ya need to understand something man. How do any of us know that you havent seen all of Neals axes awhile back and just decided to rip em off with no intent of giving Neal any credit? And then justdenying the entire thing like you dont know what is happening. We dont. But its been done before. So people assume the worst, and the worst was, someone with VERY similar designs. I dont speak for everyone, but I personally go right for the throat. Thats how I do things. Because in this case there could be no doubt at all that the person who designed your guitars hadnt seen Neals. Independent builders for what I've seen from a few are ruthless people who will screw another builder. Just look o ebay. There was a guy who totally ripped off a Yavcon design then claimed to never have heard of em. WAY too similarities.

But Neal seems to think everything is cool so I wont push any issues with ya. But just for future reference, make sure ya know what is happening around ya.

Just my two cents on the issue.

Like I stated earlier, i didnt design them, i just endorse em. As far as deisgn of those 2 guitars, we pulled em as soon as we realised they were the same. They were submitted by a friend of the company owner. As far as the guy that submitted them, had he seen neals designs, i think it plain to see ge definitly did. As far as the owner of caliber, i dont hink he knew, nor did I that neal even still made guitars. i knew of neal through some friends, and that he used to work for BC, but thats all. I had no clue he still built guitars. Anyway i hope together we can all try and rid the world of the RIPOFFS, using someone elses design and letting them know is one thing, but blatantly ripping them off and saying its your design is another. This is the reason we have decided to redesign all of calibers guitars. Myself Tom and Dave will be watching to make sure were not taking anyones ideas, Yea our new V looks like a Jackson RR but weve stremlined it a bit. It very hard in this day and age to find a completely original shape and keeping the balance of the guitar #1 and the comfortability for the player. Strat, Pauls, Teles and V's work wrgonomically in ways odd shapes dont. Alot of companies make these shapes and its hard not to make a similar shaped guitar with out it looking like something else. As far as extreme shapes, im not an extrme guy, strats and V's have always been my thing.

hope to see you all at winter namm
