Rise my brothers, we are blessed by steel!

I just can't stop listening to it! What a great orchestration! Sami vocals are like grenades exploding! It's got new Enska, traditional Enska, Turisas, Tyr, Amarth... I guess if those other bands stopped writing music right now, they wouldn't be missed. Though I love them too, I don't think there's much to be played after THIS!

Song is great, thought the video came out really good. The 3d effects, editing, concept and location etc, I thought it was all planned out well and shows it was thought out.
Looking forward to the rest of the album.

Even my girlfriend loved the video :D

Have only heard the song just one time and it's really impressive. Great to hear Sami doing solo clean vocals for once and growling aswell. I bet this song will be a great new live song for sure. Want the album so bad now. just 2 weeks left...

This is my best shot... Parts of the bridge I'm sure are wrong. Awesome song!!

Many men have crossed my way
Promising peace or my soul to save
But I already heard you
I have seen what they made with their freedom
But I, I have no need for your god
The shallow truth of your poisonous tongue
Brothers it’s time to make a stand
To reclaim our lives
Because all this steel can set us free
*
Rise my brothers we are blessed by steel
In my sword I trust
Arm yourselves the truth shall be revealed
In my sword I trust
Tyrants and cowards for metal you will kneel
In my sword I trust
Till justice and reason we’ll wield
In my sword I trust
*
The sword that shivers in my hand
Do you have the might
To eat the putrid flesh
To drink the blood of the true one to blame
The time of change is here
Avail your blade
*
Rise my brothers we are blessed by steel
In my sword I trust
Arm yourselves the truth shall be revealed
In my sword I trust
Tyrants and cowards for metal you will kneel
In my sword I trust
Till justice and reason we’ll wield
In my sword I trust
*
Leave your souls to your gods
Kneel, obey, follow their laws
Diseased and decayed, cherish their fate
This day I repay
Your love for fear come fate
*
Your love for fear come fate
*
Omen build me a fiery falcon
Pull your blade, a blazing shore
She’ll never wait and may make war
Rest my hands and come to pray
But my life shan’t go to waste
Grip the spirit that they turn on??
Upon the point, the point of our steel
*

I'm so proudto be the first to post in my sword I trust lyrics. Never was good at figuring these things out before.

:worship: Great job man! "Your love for fear come fate" is probably wrong, as well as the whole

"Pull your blade, a blazing shore
She’ll never wait and may make war
Rest my hands and come to pray
But my life shan’t go to waste
Grip the spirit that they turn on??"

part, but other than that, I don't think there are any major mistakes. Most of it makes perfect sense. ;-)

Hmm.. I've only listened once and I said afterwards it will take me a few listens to get into it more, but I was a tad disappointed on first listening

First verse seemed to go on forever, I was just waiting for a chorus or change..
The chorus is GREAT though, really catchy
Same again with 2nd verse..
Great to see a guitar solo in this song, Petri needs to show off sometimes :D
Not a fan of Sami's vox, I dunno why.. maybe it'll grow on me.. I hope so
The song order seemed a bit all over the place, I couldnt see where it was heading, and I couldnt remember where we came from.. one part sounded like a completely different song had entered the video by mistake..

I dunno

While writing this I had the song on again (my 2nd listen) and it did sound better. By tomorrow evening and another 10000 listens, no doubt I'll love it! Just giving my very first (and still raw) impressions though

Thanks Crucifer, I think you're probably right, I just couldn't get some of those words to gel in my ears. Sam B - I actually had a somewhat similar reaction on my first listen, but it got better so fast. Only thing I'd maybe say is that the guitar solo was pretty short. On the other hand, I think that works fine for this song, because its very anthemic/sing along style. Either way I freaking love it. I like it more than I liked From Afar, even though I loved that too.

Thanks Crucifer - I think your right I just couldn't get some of those words to gel in my ears. Sam B - I actually had a similar reaction my first listen, but it got better so fast. Sammi also said in an interview that this album will take a couple listens to really appreciate. Only thing I'd say about this song was that the guitar solo was kinda short, but on the other hand it really works for this song since it's very anthemic / sing along style. I love this band so much.

Gaz, I think it's better than from afar. plus it's better than anything else out there. It's pure folk metal awesomeness.

Another thing, I don't like Petri's singing the chorus in harsh vocals over the top of the clean vox. It takes away from the.. epic-ness of it

Lyrics:

Many men have crossed my way
Promising peace and my soul to save
But I've already heard it all
I've seen what they mean with their freedom

But I have no need for your god
The shallow truth of your poisonous tongue
Brothers, it’s time to make a stand

Rise my brothers we are blessed by steel
In my sword I trust!
Arm yourselves, The truth shall be revealed
In my sword I trust!
Tyrants and cowards, for metal you will kneel
In my sword I trust!
Until justice and reason will wield
In my sword I trust!

The sword that shimmers in my hand
Do you have the mind to eat guilty flesh?
To drink the blood of those who are to blame?
The time of change is here, unveil your blade!

Cling your souls to your gods
Kneel, obey, follow their laws
Deceit, subjugate, cherish their greed
Disdain Verity, glorify futile fate

O Old Man,
Bring me a fiery fur coat
Put on me a blazing shirt
Shielded by which I may make war
Lest my head should come to grief
and my locks should go to waste
In the sport of bright iron
Upon the point of harsh steel

:)

haha i likes mine better but urs are probably just as close to right. damn hard to understand that bridge. I do like the tabs you mentioned for this song, but the end flourish to the chorus seems wrong to me.
