This is from the latest Rock Sound magazine:

Occasionally there are bands who come along and play by their own rules - not industry rules, not media rules, but their own rules. Bands like Metallica, Faith No More, System Of A Down and Dillinger Escape Plan have all, at some point in their career, thrown the conventional rulebook out of the window. You can now add Italian art-metal crew Ephel Duath to that list. A music hack's worst nightmare, the Italian mob are impossible to pigeonhole as they lurch from chaotic, raucous riffs to soothing, melancholic drama. It's as beautiful to watch as it is unnerving, with the nice guy / nasty guy persona of both vocalists adding to the bizarre, bewildering beauty of it all. Come the end of the night when the band leave the stage, you realise you have just witnessed something that will remain etched in your memory as long as you live.
