Epic folk Metal test mix [Wintersun, Eluveitie, Ensiferum style]

This is the first test mix I'm posting for this bands upcoming album

Its a ridiculous amount of layers so I need some feedback cause my head is spinning. This is just mixed, not mastered.


Feedaback would be greatly appreciated.

The mix sounds super narrow and the guitars lack balls. Drums seem too quiet in general. And what are you using for that backing? Not the choir, the string section. It sounds completely mono on most parts and sticks out like a muddy sore thumb. It's not a bad mix by any means, I would just do a lot of things differently imo

I got the keys from the band so i have no idea what they used. I'm doing the best I can to keep them sounding decent but they all seem to have this weird reverb that is just spiking all kinds of annoying frequencies. I spent most of time mixing that out.

You have any suggestions?
