Got this in the mail today. Just finished my first listen. Definitely a move in the right direction.
I love their whole catalog. But the last album (Requiem for the Indifferent) is my least favorite. All the songs were good and even above average....but there is the rub - normally Epica has at least 2-3 amazing to fantastic songs (IMHO) on each album. Songs you remember later. Requiem lacked this.
So far, Quantum Enigma has had me look up and smile for more than a couple songs. Need a few more listens to see if my opinion changes but I am very optimistic.
