Hi everyone!

First Post and a good one for your ears I hope, I've been reading this forum a lot and decided to register since I produce lots of my stuff and I think it's time for my mix to be rated since everyone around me is now telling me that it sounds good but they're no producers at all so I would be glad if you could check this out for me!

The plan of this mix was to achieve the sound of a band called Virus, which is a huge influence musically for me, but by respecting my vision of the project, so I mean that I don't want to copycat all of the sound from the band, my guitars are louder and a bit more trebly which is what I want;

My project:
http://soundcloud.com/fastworker/erratic-wrong-generation

I used Direct Bass 2.0 in Kontact 4 for the bass samples (My bass was tuned to B and this song was recorded in D) and it went through Amplitube 3 for tone settings.
I used Supperior Drummer 2.0 with my own custom settings for Drums
Guitars were recorded Straight into my FastTrack Pro and Tone was made with Guitar Rig 4
Vocals on my Rode NT1-A Again Direct into FastTrack, compressed with API-2500 WAves Plug-in

Mixed In pro tools 8.0

I'll be waiting for your comments, feel free to browse the others track I did, although you will be suprised of it's content like opening a chest in Super Mario Bros 3 ahahahah

Thanks! Glad to join you!

Don't change a thing, this mix sounds amazing!
Writing reminds me of Dysrhythmia too, great music \m/

The mix sounds very muddy and reverby, almost like it was recorded from another room. Try bringing everything up and backing off on the 'verb.

Muddy in comparison to what ?
Have you listened to my mixing suggestion?
As for the Reverb I personnaly like it that way.
Could you eleborate please? :)

GarethSE: Thank you!, Dysrythmia rocks the shit and now the bassist and Guitarist are in gorguts, a local band here *which you probably now about anyway!, my 2nd huge influences ahaha :D

It sounds muddy and whoofy in comparison to the original virus song you posted to my ears. Like I said, it sounds like the track was played in one room while it was recorded in another. But if that's what you want, then keep it that way.

i agree with gareth! i can tell that this isnt meant to sound totally clean cut (my appolgies if it is!)...i think this sounds so old school, its a fucking amazing mix, seriously! dont change it man

I'm working on 3 different projects now so soon you will be able to get it, I got a couple under my skin and i'm currently changing my mixing technique and testing new software!
IMPULSES!!!

I did a quick recording today for what is to become the sound of my band Spheres, although it's a guitar tone testing, it misses the analogue-simulation I have achieved on Spheres demo which i am uploading now, anyway I'll link when it's done.

Thanks to all for these comments I really appreciate it :D

EDIT: SPHERES DEMO Available for Download

I decided to use this thread again.

I would like you to check out this guitar tone and the overall mixing, the bass will be replaced for a real one later in the process, it's a startup for the sound of an EP I'm working on for my band, technically it's supposed to sound fucked up to you.
No reference used for mixing, since I want something new and fresh!
Please tell my what you guys think about it !
