I don't think he is, lol. I can't name any off top of my head, but I think there's some decent American metal, but I mostly listen to European metal, so you can keep your ignorant statements to yourself. I am not a big Deicide fan, all that satanic (satanic as in the boogeyman of Christianity) stuff is such bullshit.

Firstly, what makes you think that european metal sucks?
Clearly, metal as we know it started over here with Motorhead, Iron Maiden, Bathory, Celtic Frost, etc. So really all metal is "european." All your bands over in the states are inspired by these. That includes Deicide.

Do i need to go on? while almost gone to hell musicwise the country its too damn big to not find some talented people doing great music. But most of the time if you are not into brutality beyond anything in music, its not that worth looking

Lets see...Dillinger Escape plan ( ok ok dont hit me i actually like them ) The fetus, Nile of course, gorgasm, disgore ( yes the voice its low beyond recognition but it acts like a second bass ) Gordian knot ( we humans are not worthy of Mr. Malone's amazing talent...not worthy!! ) i liked suffocation back in the day, Morbid Angel has some great shit, CC ( ok maybe they became cheese but eaten back talife, butchered at birth, tomb of the mutilated...come on amazing ), I think regurgitation, deeds of flesh, deaden, eternal suffering, angelcorpse ( R.I.P. but good while it lasted ) are americans, AFTerSHOCK, Killswitch Engage ( they actually opened some shows for inflames afaik, maybe not metal by scrict means cause they are all hardcore kids doing metal but still an amazing band ). Mmm, Red Tide ( also on the death fussion jazz style like cynic ), Burning Inside!!! featuring the all mighty richard christy who gave us a lesson of what drums can sound like on The sound of perseverance ( he is even BETTER on burning inside...FAR better )and several other feature bands like iced earth for example. And well i could go on some more but then i would have to go into even more obscure bands ( i dont think most of you know must of these ones anyway).
But its out there...talent its out there staying underground just because of people who are easily impresed by some of the nu metal acts and dont even know extreme music of their country. Cant blame them we Mexicans suffer from the same thing always looking for european bands and turning the back on the locals, but if the locals where anywhere as near as good as some of the bands i just mentioned things would be different. Some of they could approach but its hard to get things rolling when people ignores you cause you sound like (insert and european band name here )

I don't really care where a band comes from, but, up here in the northeast, we have some good American metal, and I think Nevermore is awesome.
But, in the past few years I've been introduced to bands such as: Meshuggah, Opeth, Dimmu Borgir, etc etc etc. All I can say about European metal (from what I've heard so far) in GENERAL terms is that the music seems better crafted, fuller, and yes - more intellectual. It seems to cross the boundary from straight noise to something more. The structure of the music is more intracut (sp?), and it seems more effort has been put into the music (IMO)
I KNOW there have been and are today good American metal bands. But the European style is quite different, and to my ears, better as a whole.

i can't believe this thread has gone on so long, anyway has anyone seen the energy efficient advert where the boiler takes the piss out of the family, and the girl, who it calls ugly, cant get a boyfriend, smelly breathe etc. i thought it was a bit harsh but genuinly funny.
