Semantics. It's easier to call it "Europan tour" than "European tour minus the UK and some other countries". ;-)
We're always open to playing everywhere, but there are logistical and financial aspects to everything. We've done more UK shows the past year than in all the other 18 years combined, and it's still a hard market for us. In order to finally do a headline tour with the production we want, our booking agent had to focus on markets were we have more of an audience. Sorry if being blunt, but it's how it works.
Hopefully we can do another UK run again soon, but it's not really up to us.
I'd love you to do a UK tour again too! I'm hoping to go to as many of the gigs as possible next time round, essentially following the tour bus to the next gig .
I do find it strange that for a band with such a globally dedicated following, that the shows in the UK weren't brilliantly attended. I mean, at the Cardiff gig in February I made it to the front despite being one of the last people in (I was held back for being underage but they let me in in the end).
I think if you were able to combine a tour of yours with something that attracts large followings no matter what, e.g. the unholy alliance tour (I know that's not quite your guys style but the last tour managed to fill the mid-sized arenas pretty well.
If you do any UK shows soon, let me know about it if you could, I've done a bit of promoting work in my area and I know a few guys about. Or would it be better to get old of century media, as they are the ones who get a say in where you guys get to play?
Thanks for the response Niklas, and I hope you enjoy the rest of Europe. Keep playing awesome music guys.
