Ever feel like a complete idiot?

I just purchased the Dangerous Music Monitor ST (monitor contorler with remote www.dangerousmusic.com ). One of the buttons on the remote is "PPI", it stands for "Producer Pacificatino Indicator". The manual says you cna use it to have the "Producer" pick between two mixes, even though they're really the same thing!

That looks awesome, hows does it compare to other monitor controllers out there?

Or you give someone a knob that isn't really connected to anything and tell them that it controls the "snarl," "bite," or "fatness" and let them twist and turn until they've got it right where they want it.

This knob here? It controls SOAR!!!!!

This works well with with the sound guys at venues, too. I can think of a few times when I had my Dual Recto sounding great, and the sound guy was complaining "Can stage right turn downa little bit?" So, I reached over, pretended to turn a knob, and he came back with..."Just a little more"...so I repeated again, pretending to turn the knob, then he said..."That's great, thanks"...

I've put labelled tape on unused outboard gear as "crunch" or "fat" and had the producer (or more than likely artist or overextended A&R guy) ride the knob or fader during the mix, having them exclaim every now and then, "YES!" or "wait, we need to do that again, I did too much!" Funny stuff, but it works wonders on keeping dull sessions interesting.

Well, it blows away the monitor path in my old digital console, but I didn't compare it head to head with any other controllers. It had all the features for which I was looking, and didn't say Mackie or Presonus on it! :Spin: After reading all the reviews of the BigKnob and CentralStation, I was not really interested in them. Too many reviews of people saying they colored the sound too much.

I was able to talk to the main guy at Dangerous a couple of times before buying it. He was really helpful, and it's nice being able to talk to someone who actually knows the product as opposed to a Mackoid.

The only other controllers I really considered were the Coleman and the CraneSong. The Coleman doesn't have a remote, so I wasn't to thrilled about that, and the CraneSong is a good deal more money than the Dangerous. Also, I'm sure the Grace is nice, but I didn't have enough money to look at it, much less think about touching it.
