Hello all! I went to the New England Metal and Hardcore Festival yesterday. The Earth/COB/Evergrey tour date overlapped here, and Earth headlined. It was a night of technical disaster. The power went out for three hours at the venue. As a result, the mangement cut some of the acts (Evergrey being one of them  ). The night wasnt a total loss though. While sitting around with some friends,Tom Englund walked by! I grabbed a pen, and kindly asked him if could sign my ticket. He was obviously pissed off that the venue screwed him over, and I agree. Anyways, he was a cool guy. I hope they come back around here soon, whether headlining or not. They are one of my favorite bands, and I am dying to see them live. Here is the ticket.

I dont know if thats how his signature normally looks, but he wasnt in the best spirits. It doesnt matter, I KNOW who signed it. :worship:

Why does it seem like disasters always happen at these stupid metalfests? That really sucks that Evergrey didn't get to play and you didn't get to see them, Rich.

At least you got Tom's autograph! :)

Yeah, I was totally bummed out. I was standing at the bar, talking with this cool older guy sporting a Symphony X shirt. He was also there to only see Earth and Evergrey. I saw him later in the night, and I let him know why they didnt play. He wasnt happy either. Someone from the iced earth board informed that they (Earth) will be playing the area again in the coming months http://www.bravewords.com/news.html?id=13052 and I can only hope that Evergrey will be one of the opening bands for that show. Here's to hoping! :headbang:

Yeah, I was pissed. I spend, $10 on a train ride home from school, $10 for parking, and a $25 ticket which probobly would have been $15 if it wasn't for the stupid metalfest. I had no idea they were overlapping shows. I wend in, bought a ticket, and looked at it and was like "Metalfest!?, did I get the date wrong?" But I wasn't there for the power outage so I had no clue evergrey wasn't going to play. So I still had hope after COB untill that stupid Iced Earth banner was raised. They should have just had IE cut the cheesy epic and let the grey play at least 30 minutes for crying out loud. Then after the show, I went to the T-shirt stand to see If I could at least throw more of my money at something to somehow tie the night to Evergrey. But evergrey had already packed up all their stuff. Man, they must have been pissed. I know I would have been. I saw Tom when he left the the building from the exit on the left of the stage awhile before Bodom went on. I was alittle too far away to try and talk to him, but it's probobly for the best as at that point I didn't know they weren't going to play and I would have been like "So, when are you guys going on?" and gotten punched in the face. True, it would make a good conversation piece to have been socked by the singer of evergrey, but I never was a fan of being punched in the face. Oh well... I saw them last time they came around with Arch Enemy, but I was really hoping to see them again. It will probobly be another year at least before they come around here again.

Oh, and I was wondering, does Carina have any projects of her own?

yeah seriously it would have been quite bad to be punched in the face by Tom, because he is HUGE!
