Every Hour Kills instrumental demo

I love this and can't wait to hear vocals over it.

What are you doing for the bass during the 8 string stuff? I'm doing some tracks right now with a band that uses an 8 string with a low E; instead of tuning the bass down an octave we just used the 2nd string on a 5 string bass so it's an identical pitch. Seemed to work out OK but wondering if you're finding anything to work out better?

Thanks Jeff!

Yeah bass that low is a tricky one. We're only in F#, our bassist just bought a fan-fretted Dingwall so with a huge scale and massive cable-esque strings it can go that low with reasonable intonation. We haven't recorded it yet though, the bass on this is Trilian and is matching the low notes an octave below as well.

The lowend here actually has a lot going on to get decently tight; your typical sine-y synth blended in for the sub stuff, as well as lots of extra harmonics generated and pumped into stages of compression / multi-band to control it.

Thanks broski!

Guitars are tracked with my Carvin DC800 with EMG808. Tone is PODFarm, two different tones (quad tracked)

In the mix they got some VCC and VTM, Ozone EQ for surgical stuff, Great River EQ for some small boosts and a touch of BX Shredspread widening.

Very nice man! Definitely dig the sound and the guitar tone has a sweet bite to it. Would be cool to hear Jerrod's vox over this.

Cheers brah! I'm sure Jerrod would slay it but our vocalist Kyle will be laying it down on this one (and all our songs)! You can hear the first single with him on vox here if ya like:

Inspiring stuff as ever dude! I love the guitar-synth interaction, especially that section from 0:45 onwards.
