Brutally brutal brutality. As good as the zombie genre can be in terms of realism. You actually empathize with the characters. Esp. Anna the cute blonde who pretty much plays the lead. And the cop is bad ass too. 
Everything Scott and Aint It Cool said about Dawn of the Dead was true..

It is a decent flick but I would like to see young horror filmmakers take a chance and try , let me see how do I want to say it, write something original instead of make all horror movies at least in the US as a remake of a classic or based off a videogame.:Smug:

I'm sick of the remakes too. There are at least 3 japanese horror movies being remade in America with great actresses like Sarah Michelle Gellar... :Smug:

I was impressed w/ how they managed to bring elements from all three original films into this movie. And even cameos from original dawn cast members. Pretty sweet. But, the gore level wasnt where i wanted it to be, but thats what the dvd is for. I love the footage that rolls during the ending credits...give u a sense of finality for the characters.

Just got back, it was ok, One of the better remakes I have seen. But Texas Chainsaw was a better remake..

I thought it was great.The level of gore was cool. Sure more is better but your never gonna have Cannilbal Holocaust gore or something like that on the big screen. I agree that every decent horror movie lately is either a remake(Texas Chainsaw, Dawn, Ring) or just a by the numbers "sample" if you will, of classic horror movies (House 1000, or Wrong Turn). Lets see something original.

PS - "face/Off" was a great ACTION flick but why not get a good horror writter to write a horror film instead?
