I just bought the new Corpse on Vinyl..what a great, fucking ALBUM! :kickass: Especially the title Track is like a slowly groove execution. Dudes, do you own the album and what do you think about it?

Maybe there´s an insider, who knows something about the guitar gear, they used on Evisceration Plague? :D That would be great.

There's a Making of DVD on the limited edition version of the album. But the CD version won't be released until next week.

I've preordered it, and after two listens it's a decent album but not many memorable songs on it, off the bat. Songs 1, 3, 4 and 9 are pretty good.

About guitar gear, since Jack Owen left Rob Barrett is back.
I think Rob and Pat both play 2 channel series Rectos with a Metalzone or something like that in front as boost/eq.
You can see the Recto in some studio pics on their myspace page
and in the Studio vids, Rob used the same setup for Malevolent Creation.
About cabinets, I think they used Marshalls or Crates (Pat uses Marshalls and Rob Crates, most of the time).

Uberproaudio says that they used an Engl Powerball (Erik Rutan owns one and he seems to like it), not sure about that.

About guitars, I think they used Dean Customs, B.C. Rich and Ran Customs, all with EMGs.

Here's one of the pictures from their myspace page, 2 Rectos on Mesa and Marshall cabinets (the one in the rack is imho Pat's Recto)

Ahaaa very interesting :) Thanks for the info, countryman. Do you like the new stuff? Imo it´s the best since Wretched Spawn. Actually I like it a lot more, than the new Napalm Death output.

I really liked their last album Kill- Rutan's production was fantastic. Most cannibal corpse albums have great songs though; from the Bleeding onwards their albums have been really solid.

Looking foward to getting this one!

The best of all Cannibal Corpse albums for me is clearly "The Bleeding". I still know, how I felt as I had listen to it as a young kid. It was kind of Fear! It was so damn brutal and the performance is still one of the best in Death Metal (imo) I love this Album.

Evisceraton Plague has some really intelligent and genius songwriting, and it grooves like hell. STRUCTURE is the keyword. It´s progressive, with great ideas but nevertheless compact and the arrangements are to understand for humans. All makes sense for me on this album. I did not like this too much confusing stuff. On this Album they found the perfect middle. That´s why I´m so fucking excited for that. @Dan, you can buy it ;)

I think the new one is a little dirty in the guitar playing and it seems that rutan enhance a little the stereo pan of the guitars.
Bass is very deep and you can hear it...
I don't know if I like this album yet....The title track is very good but in my opinion, since the owen's departure the songs are too much "speed, techincal riff, random riff".

Their masterpiece is Bloodthirst! End of the story....great songs, great riffs, great groove.

I have listened to this album but don't like it at all. What I prefer in their discography ? "Butchered at Birth", "Tomb of the Mutilated" and "Gallery of Suicide" !!

Kill was the album by Cannibal corpse which i first bought, but by far The Wretched Spawn is the best album so far. But I'm so fucking happyy to hear some new meaty grooves from these guys, its as heavy as fuck! As usual the vocals are sounding immense, its definately a contestant for thier best album.

Some of the riffs are cool, but overall pretty boring. I'm not a huge corpse fan, so Bloodthirst is really the only album I need.

yeah, thought exactly the same, saw them with those cabinets 2005 live, really fucked up cabs (the ones nile used looked the same, too).

imho "bleeding" is the best, we're just learning stripped, raped and strangled at the moment to end our liveset with a cover.

Not heard this, but I loved Wretched, especially the title track. Didn't think too much to Kill to be honest, so I may check this one out if it's more along the lines of Wretched.

Sorry man I only know about guitar gear...

Pat use is 6strings CS BC rich V (Rob also use this) put into is old 2 channels triple rectifier (blackface, same on TWS and Kill) with marshall cabs.
MT2 is only to boost a little (like a TS) for soloing... But it's always the same with Pat, V still to the rectifier:headbang:
Rob use setting really similar than Pat setting and you can find some pics (on CC myspace)... Rob tracked with Pat V too...

It's all I know for moment...
