I'm currently working on a mix for a contest, and I'm happy with the results but know there's room for lot of improvement. If you're not a fan of the music, try to bear with the song; I'm looking for feedback on the mix rather than the composition since it's not my song. I wasn't given any info on the gear used for recording, other than it was recorded at my University's professional level studios and all tracks are mic'ed instruments.
As far as the mix goes, how do the vocals sit in the mix? Do the guitars have enough depth? And I wasn't sure if I mastered it too "hot" (any noticeable clipping or distortion).
This forum has helped me a lot in the past, so I'm grateful for all the advice everyone here has given!
