Yep, scary stuff, all the terrorists are from our neck of the woods... I quite regularly go up to that area of Leeds aswell, its a big student area and I have friends living there...

I watched some of the gathering in Trafalgar sq yesterday,

It was a great event I thought, an entire city in defiance,

Looks like a similar event has taken place. Again, I was set to go into London today. If I hadn't gotten so wasted last night then I would have gotten up earlier and already been on my way. Towelhead bastards won't bring me down!

All reports are that todays are just detonators though so only loud bangs, no real explosions, also eyewitnesses are saying that the perpetrators are white british people, so it looks like copycat idiots...

Probably, but I blame the towelheads anyway. There was also an incident with a nailbomb, I believe, as well as someone with a gun.

I was away when I heard about the second incident.
They plague this city with fear.

I guess that's the idea really. I can't see what else they think they can achieve by it. I mean, the official motive is to try and force an order to remove British troops from Iraq, but I have a feeling that's not going to happen any time soon.

In fact, I now discover, the motive probably isn't even as clear-cut as that. Apparently there is no stated motive for the recent terrorist acts, which makes them seem even more pointless wastes of life in my opinion, but Al Qaeda (who are considered responsible for the attacks) simply do it because they hate the whole of Western society. The question that begs to be asked is: "what can men do against such reckless hate?" (Theoden, LotR:TT)
