Has anyone else got this album from the early 90's?
It is dead set amazing.
Every song is great and there are no fillers.
How the hell is this so overlooked and not in any top 100 album lists ever?

Extreme are criminally underrated.... It's either Hole Hearted or More Than Words and that is it..... but they are so original... They have a perfect blend of funk, rock, riffs, metal, shredding, prog....

Can you all please go and get this album if you have not heard it. It's brilliant!

Check out Cupids Dead for an example of their funk/rock/prog style with a KILLER instrumental section:

Nuno Bettencourt is one of the better guitarists in the world no doubt.

And the 21 minute album closer is waaaaaaaaay ahead of it's time.

Their latest album from a few years ago, Saudades de Rock is also very good....

Yeah to be honest it was those two songs which put me off in the early 90s. I've recently thought I should check them out though, for Nuno is a great guitarist.

Those 2 songs were the 2 ballads off of Pornograffiti but totally not an indication of the rest of that album, let alone the rest of their catalogue...

Yeah, Nuno is one of the best guitarists ever... Also, he is a great singer and piano player too....
This is a song from their 2008 album (Saudades de Rock) called Comfortably Dumb... taken from last years live dvd, Take Us Alive:

Awesome riff.

Listened to the whole album a few times now this week and over the weekend.
For the most part it kind of strikes me as somewhere between Van Halen and Ugly Kid Joe but without any of the magic.
The opener is awesome, "Our Father" is OK, the rest doesn't do anything for me at all.

Wow... That is crazy

Tragic Comic?
Rest in Peace??
Seven Sundays???
Stop the World????
Cupids Dead?????

What about the 21 minute closer 'Everything Under the Sun'?
That is amazing!

I posted about this album on a few other boards that I visit and the response was 100% positive with many of the people claiming it is a top 5 of all time album for them........ See here: http://www.mikeportnoy.com/forum/tm.aspx?m=2620043&high=III+Sides+to+every+story

Blame the record company/radio stations/music video shows for that one. To be honest I'm not willing to delve into the back catalogue of bands which leave me unimpressed after hearing their big ballads.

Having said that, I just remembered a day or two ago that a while back I bought a best of of theirs to check them out a bit further. :)
