I thought about buying one of their albums along with Corrosion of Conformity
after I got Down-NOLA a long time ago, but never got around to doing it.

Eyehategod is a lot better than CoC and Down. Take as Needed for Pain and Dopesick and rides into a drug frenzied world. Also check out Iron Monkey, who's even better IMO.

I have Dopesick, only tried it once and I wasn't impressed (yet). Down-NOLA rules. If Dopesick is better, I'll eat my own feces.

Generally speaking truly deranged CDs hit me quick. Sunn 0))) and Goatsblood I liked immediately. Dopesick is trying my patience on the second listen right now.

Comparing this to CoC or Down is foolish, they aren't similar at all.

How one can like Goatsblood and not Eyehategod is just plain odd, since Goatsblood draws probably 90% of their sound straight from EHG.

they are pretty good. a combo of filthy sludge, lots of drugs, insane vocals, a bit of sabbath groove in there. get Take as Needed for Pain and Dopesick

eyehategod is awesome, but a little inconsistent. some of their songs really kinda go nowhere, to which you're saying, "um but isnt it sludge?!" yeh, some parts just kinda drag and the vocals get really grating.

Iron Monkey takes the best parts of EHG, tunes down a little more, thickens the gain and trims the too-slow shit out. the first album also gets bonus points for allegedly being the soundtrack to Phil Anselmo's heroin overdose!

fans of Acid Bath and Grief would probably dig both

yeah, IM's Our Problem has much more of a Sabbath sound than EHG, which I liked, but there was some sick masochism about EHG that made them more compelling. such depravity, and yes those grating vocals. Take as Needed for Pain made it sound cool to be a junkie
