Faggy Core

I'm a fan. <3

What are you using for guitars??

Straight up pod farm haha.. I don't really like to use real amps for bands doing single songs.. And this song DEFINITELY needs the TACT.. definitely that style..

:)

How in the hell is that achieved with Pod farm?

Haha dude, thats pretty amazing for podfarm not gonna lie.

How do you get everything to sit so well together? I can't get anything I do to sound that clean and polished :/

NS has spoken about his love for the criminal model and not using line 6 cab emulation, i'd guess it's something along those lines, no idea what impulse though!

definitely sounds pretty natural, or maybe i've just listened to too many sturgis recordings ;)

it's good work man, every things sounds clear and vocals cut through really well.

not so keen on the intro thing though.

thanks,

thanks guys!

Guitars are just pod farm this time.. No impulses.. I work really hard to get a natural sounding guitar from the source and with the guitar buss.. A few EQ cuts can work some wonders!

Yep drums are all samples I made myself again! I blended a few snares together that I've used in the past. The kick is a single kick that I sampled just yesterday.

Lately what I've been doing is dialing in all of the tones that I like, then turning every single track down to 0.. From there I start with getting the kick to hit a certain point, which is relatively quiet, and then snare, then bass, then guitars blah blah.. It's very helpful and ensures you have enough head room to master!

Dude, I noticed a steady increase of quality to everything you are doing. Your drum tones are very very good. I would love to chat sometime about your post processing to the drums...they sound very polished, but at the same time natural.

I do agree that the intro is a little weird, maybe too abrupt?

Good work man, keep it up.

1+
Sounding very cool :).
Can you share some more details on the drums ? (post processing?)
Also can you explain a bit more how you handle podfarm.. Course while I can get some tact going I have not completely nailed it yet.

Thank you dude! I'm glad you can hear a difference! I strive to make stuff sound better every time, which is why I start everything from scratch.. It's just more fun that way.

and yea, I hate the intro, but fuck.. I didn't write it :loco:

Add me up, yo

I like the pre-verb thing you've got going on with the snare. That's a nifty little production trick. All in all, how long would you say it took you to mix this and add in all the bells and whistles?

Let's see.. Band got here at about 4, I got it sent to them at about 10.

I mix really fast! Like it's a sport or something.. It just yields better results for me, personally.. That way I don't overthink something and then hate my mix.. It's almost like it's constantly getting more fresh sounding and better.

That's damn impressive. Now when you say the band got there at 4, do you mean you actually started tracking then or they showed up to watch you mix then?

No the band got here at 4 to track haha. Everything was done in 1-3 takes. We did vocals one line at a time to make sure it sounded real good... Very easy band to work with!
