No philosophy or politics, and little in DT related stuff :p but here's a chance to use your imagination and come up with some ideal Band combinations for what you would consider the ultimate dream tour.
Instead of just listing bands that we would like to see live we should try and think of it fairly realisticaly... like stay fairly Genre specific and not include too many bands, as we all know from experience, standing up for five bands in a row is hell on the back and feet (or at least it is for me :p). Start the lists with the opener and end the list with the headliner.

for me this would be a totally awesome Mellow-Death tour.
  • Suidakra
  • Omnium Gatherum
  • Kalmah
  • Dark Tranquillity
I'd love to fit Skyfire in there too, but That would mean cutting down on sets for the other bands, and I really dont want that. I'd want it to occur at the largest of my local club venues - Bradford Rios

I'll do a Hardcore shindig too -
  • Born From Pain
  • Arkangel
  • Hatebreed
  • Converge
I know Hatebreed would never go before Converge but the thought of it just makes my joints ache and my heart beat faster  . Harcore gigs are such a laugh/near death experience :p. I'd want it to occur in this grotty pub that Converge have already played at 3 times called Josephs Well.

That's all I'll do for now... I dont want to exhaust my ammunition for this thread straight away :p

The Kill Yourself Festival
Anathema
Katatonia
My Dying Bride

that would be good enough, but the following bands could also be included:
Porcupine Tree
Callisto
Swallow the Sun

The I-Don't-Know-What-To-Call-It Festival:

Empyrium
Tenhi
Virgin Black
Mar de Grises

Another Festival:

Dark Tranquillity
Borknagar
Asmegin
Falkenbach
Arcturus

i could go on... :(
i wish

edit: oh and they're in no particular order, the bands ii mean. dt doesnt really fit in the "another" festival but bah, they can play in all three of them. and i know empyrium doesnt exist anymore but what the hell. there can always be a reunion

The International Bring-a-Helmet-to-the-Pit festival:

Fly
Arch Enemy from Sweden
Decapitated from Poland
Zyklon from Norway
Chimaira from U.S.
Sepultura from Brazil
and from Finland, reunite The Crown
|,,/

I could die happy the next day (if I haven't already in the pit)

Alternatively, it'd be nice for me if they were to organize a rehearsed and professionally set up concert of Opeth and Children of Bodom, having everyone in the audience sit their ass down and shut the fuck up.

I'd like to see this tour, the bands playing in this order:
Genocide Superstars (Sweden)
The Crown (Sweden)
Terrorizer - (U.S)
Carcass - (U.K) (playing the entire "Reek of putrefaction")

Too bad all but the first band are dead. And Genocide SS aren't very active.

The following gigs need to be independantly set up in an ancient forest (bonus if it's infested with elves :p )

Dress code - Leather pants and Anglo Saxon Weaponry
  • Heavenly
  • Nocturnal Rites
  • Dream Evil
  • Dragonforce
  • Edguy

The Powermetal with Balls tour 2005
  • Tadmorose
  • Symphorce
  • Mercenary
  • Nevermore

The drummer and Marko Tervonen (guitars) both got finnish names and obviously finnish relatives but the band has always been based in Trollhättan...

Shape of Despair
Swallow the Sun
Insomnium

would be the ultimative finnish evening.

Edge of Sanity
Opeth
Bloodbath
Dark Tranquillity

would be the ultimative swedish evening :p

Hm, i'd like to see this gig:
Katatonia
Opeth

Just two bands, cause this way there'll be time for two long sets.
I'm sure i'll come up with some more combinations, but some bands are escaping me now.
