I'm a bit of a live album fan so I was wondering..what are your favourite live albums?

Maiden - Live After Death
Iced Earth - Alive in Athens
Halford - Ressurrection

It's got to be Live After Death for me too.

I also like The Rays Alive 95 and their yet to be released (or even recorded) double live album that should be released in Spring next year

Yes true... there is a short sample in the beginning of "Touch Like Angel Of Death" song.
And by the way, Dreamtale has done whole song as an intro on their debut album, check it out!

AC/DC absolutetly kicks ass live. I know, I've seen them.
THE BEST concert I've ever seen live considering we don't get that much good rock or metal shows here. True godfathers of raw heavy metal.

hey Symphony: yes Dream Theater's Once in a Livetime is excellent, in my opinion their best live cd. it is actually their second live cd, as it came after Live at the Marquee and before Live Scenes from New York.

then, as we said in another thread, you've got to add UFO's Strangers in the Night to this list.

I've never been fond of live albums and never been fond of a lot of those mentioned, like Helloween, Gamma Ray, Dream Theater, Maiden... so here's my very personal list: don't bite me!

Threshold - Concert In Paris
Rage & Conception - Power Of Metal (any of you knows this album, featuring also Helicon and Gamma Ray ?)
Royal Hunt - 1996
Savatage - Japan Live '94
Dokken - One Live Night
Gotthard - D-Frosted (these last 2 are unplugged, actually...)
