I hope this keeps going.

me, too--it should be MUCH less time consuming than compiling the list of songs mentioned in the 'songs kicking your ass' thread (so far I'm almost half-way through it, lol)

In finding bands and good songs maybe never heard of before?...(atleast for me)

if you created a companion thread (and people adhered to the outlines) it could be even more successful in that effect, by having a 'fav tunes by bands you don't like' thread -- I have a lot of favorite songs that are one of so few songs by the band that I actually like, that it would be a far far bigger list than merely a favorite song by favorite bands, and probably a list containing more less-well-known bands.

Amon Amarth - 'Runes to my Memory'
Bathory - 'One Rode to Asa Bay' or 'Father to Son'

Judas Priest - Victim of Changes
Manilla Road - Dreams of Eschaton
Mercyful Fate - A Dangerous Meeting
Jag Panzer - Warfare
The Chasm - Revenge Rises/Drowned in the Mournful Blood
Incantation - Impending Diabolical Conquest

This is of course leaving out favorite songs from less favored bands (i.e. "Trial By Fire" is pretty much the best NWOBHM song I've heard but Satan needs a little more to be amongst these guys)

Yeah mate,it certainly is
Good to see a bit of Lord love around here too.

I was going to post something about their new album in the Australian Scene board, but it turns out that it's not exactly a popular board.

Some more faves:
Armored Saint- Last Train Home
Liquid Tension Experiment- Paradigm Shift OR Universal Mind
Rainbow- Man On The Silver Mountain
Rush- 2112
Twisted Sister- We're Not Gonna Take It

It's an EP but it goes for over a hour. I haven't bought it yet but I've listened to a handful of the songs on Youtube. Hoping to get it Monday. If what I've read is correct theres a few covers and a few different versions of other Lord songs. The title track is like a sequel to Tyranno Del Mar off One Step Beyond back from when they were Dungeon.
