Listened to the High Spirits. After the first listen I think it's great. No new ground or anything but like Brian said, very catchy stuff.

Robert Pehrsson's Humbucker - s/t
I think you'd probably dig the Black Magic album. Lots of early Slayer and a bit of Mercyful Fate sounding stuff going on.
Will be surprised if this doesnt end in my top 3 of the year.
Surprised to see Edguy on so many lists. I don't hate it but even with only 3 albums on my favorites list so far I know it isn't going to be a top 10 album for me. I'm still on the fence about Slough Feg, and there is a bunch of stuff I need to get like Twilight Force, Dark Forest, High Spirits, etc.
A friend keeps recommending this to me and I keep forgetting. This post was a nice reminder. 1.5 songs deep and DAMN!!!!
And also, a direct Candlemass clone doesn't sound like a problem to me! m/
But yeah, I agree with Lee the Bee - the influence is there, esp vocally, but not so much musically.
Regardless - It kicks major arse!!!!
Lee the bee?
Yep, he was dubbed Lee the Bee after he was caught having a tender conversation with Mark the Shark at Alehorn....
