Try to avoid progressive rock bands for this topic, which will complement the one I've already made on that nicely.

AC/DC - Back in Black
The Jimi Hendrix Experience - Are You Experienced?
The Jimi Hendrix Experience - Axis: Bold As Love
Cream - Disraeli Gears
The Who - Who's Next
Led Zeppelin - Houses of the Holy
Blue Oyster Cult - Secret Treaties
Neil Young - Harvest
Deep Purple - In Rock
Deep Purple - Machine Head
Lynyrd Skynyrd - Pronounced Leh-Nerd Skin-Nerd
Queen - A Night at the Opera
Queen - II

Way too many to make a definitive list, so I'll limit myself to 3:

King Crimson - Larks' Tongues in Aspic
Led Zeppelin - Houses of the Holy
Jethro Tull - Aqualung

Okay 2 more:

The Velvet Underground & Nico - Andy Warhol / s/t
The Doors - s/t

And now I have to stop before I come up with 234,895 more.

In my view, Zep, Purple, AC/DC, Van Halen, Aerosmith ARE all metal bands, so I'll go with non-metal:

the four Rolling Stones records released between 1968-1972 are
about as awesome as it gets! True BLUES-rock, without a fault to be found:
"Beggars Banquet"
"Let It Bleed"
"Sticky Fingers"
"Exile On Main Street"

And, of course, George Harrison's first solo record (the 3 LP) "All Things Must Pass" is unstoppable!

Just a few of the so darn many.

Deep Purple- Burn
Jimi Hendrix- Electric Ladyland
Blue Oyster Cult- Tyranny and Mutation
Iggy and the Stooges- Raw Power
Mountain- Flowers of Evil
Mott the Hoople-All the Young Dudes
Lou Reed- Rock n Roll Animal
Steppenwolf --- 7
Trapeze--Medusa
Robin Trower- Bridge of Sighs
Montrose- s/t
Humble Pie- Smokin
Alice Cooper- Billion Dollar Babies

Van Halen - Van Halen
Thin Lizzy - Jailbreak
The Who - Who's Next
Led Zeppelin - II
Deep Purple - Machine Head

I don't know why I forgot to mention this, since it's probably my 3rd favorite album ever. :tickled:
