Gorecki is awesome! Some of my fav's of his are Sym. 2-3, Beatus Vir, Good Night, Miserere and Totus Tuus.

its one of my favs also... yeah Totus Tuus is GREAT! there is a really good recording of it by Robert Shaw... its on a cd with Part and Bridge and other stuff... damn what's that album called?

EVOCATION OF THE SPIRIT! That's the name of the album. Get that one.

I also enjoy much of Bach, Ravel, Chopin, Mozart, Beethoven, quite a bit of Grieg and Tchaikovsky, Smetna (sp?), Smith, I like Haydn's Surprize Symphony, and oh how could I forget Holst!

Who I don't like: John Adams, Philip Glass, i.e. minimalists

i dabble... i learned a villa lobos prelude years ago... since he's such a well known guitar composer i deduced you were a guitar player <genius

i enjoy all of those composers to various degrees... i've really been digging Tchaikovsky's symphonies lately... love minimalism tbh... part, tavener, gorecki, glass have all made great shit

nope... my main instrument is actually piano though i loathe practicing and performing... i prefer composing music and letting others play it
i've done numerous performances with piano, guitar, percussion and voice but i don't think any were recorded... though i do have a recording of me in my choir performing in hungary a few years ago on cd... but yeah you won't be able to distinguish me from the other 20 odd basses
