Black Sabbath are the shit, baby. :)

Anyway, what are your favourite songs of theirs? Mine are (and this is a very limited list, only the best of the best :) ) --

w/ Ozzy: Into the Void, Fairies Wear Boots, Symptom of the Universe, Hand of Doom

w/ out Ozzy: Heaven and Hell, The Hand that Rocks the Cradle

Dio is the freakin man, man. :D
Heaven and Hell
Children of the sea
Neon Knights

:D
Anyone got Holy Dio: A tribute to Dio? Great versions of the above songs!

I've always wanted to get Holy Dio, but wasn't quite sure about it.
I've had too many bad experieces with the Maiden tributes.

Sydo. GET it. Its AWESOME. Some of the songs are even better than the originals, get the 2 cd version, theres a few crap ones, but when you hear blind guardian rip into Dont talk to strangers, jag panzer doing children of the sea or gamma ray doing long live rock and roll you will know why the album is so good.

Put it this way, if im in the mood for Dio, Im usually putting that album on and not the man himself bizzarely :) Oh, some of the guys have voices so close to dios you will swear its him, quite disconcerting!

Heaven and hell rules as well!

OK ive babbled enough. Get the 2cd version, you wont be sorry!

I've heard Gamma Ray's Long Live.. It's good.

When I feel like Alice, I put on Humanary Stew.
It's got cool versions of the classic Alice tracks with guys like Bruce, Megadeth, Dio, Crue, Dokken, Def Leppard and more.
It's the CD that got me into Alice Cooper in the first place.

I'll start looking for Holy Dio asap.

That alice tribute sounds rather good......its now on my list! I want to get the helloween tribute as well, im not a huge helloween fan, but its put together by the same person who did the dio tribute I think.

Best Sabbath songs with Ozzy:
Dirty Women, Black Sabbath, Spiral Architect, Iron Man, You Wont Change Me (very beatle'ish), The Writ.

Best Iommi riffs: Supertzar, Heaven and Hell

Best non Ozzy - Heaven and Hell, Children of the Sea, Neon Nights, Sign of the Southern Cross, Trashed, Born Again, Zero the Hero

Symptom Of The Universe

War Pigs
After Forever
Sabbra Cadabra
Sabbath Bloody Sabbath
The Shining

That's 10 and that'll do.

:headbang: That's one hell of a list!

I love Sabbath. Without a doubt they have written some of the best and heaviest metal we are likely to hear - see above list - but I have never really gotten into them.

I own
  • Paranoid
    The Best Of Black Sabbath
    Heaven and Hell
    Mob Rules
    Live Evil
    TYR
    Dehumanizer
    Reunion
    The Last Supper VHS
and that's it!

My main problem I suppose, is that I've always found it hard to listen to an entire album with Ozzy on vocals. Whether it be Sabbath or solo, I'll love listening to 2 or 3 songs but then have to stop. :err:

Sydo, ive only got the best of black sabbath and nothing else
But I mean, it says the best on the cover, doesnt that mean all the rest is crap? I mean its not "The best of and some other shit from black sabbath" or worse still "The best worst stuff from black sabbath" :)

(Spawn looks at all the best of cds in his collection and realises what he said was incredibly stupid, after all, they left off King in Crimson from brucies best of......)

Gees I crap on about crap sometimes, dont I?
Stop babbling Spawny and shut the hell up. Dammit, do something meaningful with your life and stop wasting these peoples time. *SLAP*

What about the one in "Wicked World"?

My faves:

Sabbath Bloody Sabbath
The Sign of the Southern Cross

and

Children of the fuckin' Grave!!!!!

There's heaps more, but they're my bestest ones. :D

This is too hard, I'll have to pick one from each album

1. Black Sabbath- title track
2. Paranoid- ditto
3. Master of Reality- Into The Void
4. Vol 4- Snowblind (with Supernaut running a close second)
5. Sabbath Bloody Sabbath- Sabbra Cadabra
6. Sabotage- Symptom of The Universe
7. Technical Ecstasy- Dirty Women
8. Never Say Die- title track
9. Heaven and Hell- Children of The Sea
10. Mob Rules- Falling off the Edge of The World
11. Born Again- Zero The Hero (good material on this one, but it's let down by a bloody 'orrible mix).
13. Seventh Star- title track
14. Eternal Idol- Nightmare
15. Headless Cross- When Death Calls
16. Tyr- Valhalla (tough choice here- I love this album to bits)
17. Dehumaniser- Time Machine
18. Cross Purposes- Evil Eye
19. Forbidden- Kiss of Death
