Notice the distinct lack of "Metal" lyrics.

Well, as I said in that "Your song" thread, lyrics doesn't really matter to me, but I posted two Lee Hazlewood lyrics there that I like! I also think Dead Can Dance make some decent lyrics.

Jim Matheos from Fates Warning, great stuff!!!!:

Hope leads to quiet desperation
When reality obscures the dream
Makes the mind a grave of memories
That wander like the lonely breeze
Whose whispers echo throuh ruins rust
Of towers torn and dream turned to dust

Love it!!!

MAYNARD JAMES KEENAN - Tool and APC
Trent Reznor - NIN
Jerry Cantrell - Alice in Chains and solo stuff
Layne Staley - AiC

Sammy Haggar! :Puke:

I very rarely pay attention to lyrics, but these guys I do.

I can't believe some people think that Mikael isn't an awesome lyrcisit! Oh well, he can be quite vague if you're not really into that then...

Hey Board. Have you heard Entombed's cover of a Lee Hazlewood song? It's not to bad at all.

I haven't heard it, but as far as I know it's "Some velvet morning" which he did with Nancy Sinatra in '68. The original is superb, but could have been even better if it hadn't been for Nancy's terrible, terrible out of tune crap voice! I would have prefered if he had done it with Suzi Jane Hokom instead as she's a fantastic singer IMO! Vanilla Fudge has also done a cover of it, but that's not that good. Primal Scream has also done a cover of it, but it's terrible! That band is absolute crap IMO and the only decent thing about that cover is that Kate Moss sings it better than Nancy does!
