Is it only me or the guitar sound of these bands recorded and mixed by mr. Jacob Hansen is really amazing, I mean it sounds totally un-american and that is what is good about it, I guess he uses the same technique as fredman, or am I wrong?.. anyway great guitar tones and good bands!!

If you like these productions (esp. Fear My Thoughts) go check out Deadlock, they sound almost the same. I´d like to know how they did the guitar-tone, too.

Since I´ve listened to The Arcane Order recently I just get the feeling that Jacob Hansen used exactly the same drums-samples on The Arcane Order, Deadlock and Fear My Thoughts...

The guitars all have a certain thing that makes them sound similar.

I like the drum production alot.
One of my favorites, specially Raunchy's Death Pop Romance. Love that drummer also.

I like the Heaven Shall Burn tones on their last CD...I've had some people compare my band's EP (which I recorded) to the mix/master on the last HSB disc...Not so much in guitar tone, just overall "in your face-ness", haha...Or something. I've heard this from a couple people, don't know if I hear it. Maybe a slight aesthetic of it or something, who knows.

I did use a modified version of the 2 mic (on and off axis) technique, FWIW.

Listening to the links posted in this thread, though, it does sound like the fredman technique, although I don't dig the Deadlock tones that much.
