Hi,

after reading and posting here for a while I wanted to start a Thread and ask for Feedback.

Just started mixing the Song as I recorded everything. The playing isn't that good at all cause I am not the best Musician but all Instruments have been played by myself.

Maybe someone can give me some feedback to the Mix. If there are major issues or if I get something totally wrong.
The Instruments were edited and Bass and Drums have already some heavy processing going on. Guitars are not processed by now.
All instruments are real recordings.

Every criticism is highly appreciated cause I am really wanting to get better in mixing. By now I am still not at that point where I know which step I have to do next. Most things come up due to accident or trial and Error.
The MP3 is not mastered. Just the Slate VBC on the Master Bus.

Here's the Soundcloudfile:

Drums are too quiet (kick is barely audible) and lack of punch. Too dry for my taste. Snare would benefit from a nice reverb.
The hi-hat sounds really fake. Maybe open it more and re-record - since you played them yourself.

You said you had edited them but there's still a lot of sloppiness heard over the tracks, maybe edit tighter? (Though the original song doesn't need to be 100% to the grid.)

Thanks for the Feedback. As I just listen to the Mix again after work I also hear that Bassdrum and Snare are too quiet. The Overheads seem ok.

The Editing was mostly cutting out unwanted Noise from the Kick,Snare and Toms. I tried to edit some Hits on the Grid but that it didn't sound right to me. Most of the Kick and snare hits are about 20-30ms away from the Grid.

Maybe the Hihat sounds fake cause I played it closed cause I needed the second foot for my Bassdrum. I am not able to play the Doublekicks with one foot.

There is still absolutely no Reverb and Delay on the Instruments. Do you have any Tips on how to give each instrument his own space?
