Finntroll

Koich or anyone else who can answer...what is a good Finntroll album to start with? I am buying a few cds from an ebay shop (quite cheap) and they have some Finntroll, which I would be keen to give a whirl.

I have one on mp3 but I cant remember the name. Its ok (read funny) on the first few listens, but after that I dunno. Once the novelty of metal mixed with polka wears off its a little boring.

Any of them really. They're all pretty much the same. But Jaktens Tid or Midnattens Widunder would be ideal.

You are probably right Iccy, I will only need one album, but I did like what I have heard, even if it was a novelty.

Midnattens Widunder.

For once however, Brian is wrong. Visom om Slutet is almost entirely acoustic, and possibly one of the greatest acoustic albums ever recorded, due to the fact it's ambient parts are nothing short of spectactular.

Also, the novelty doesn't wear off if you have even a passing interest in norse mythology.

Visom om Slutet is also not a typical Finntroll release, so I wasn't wrong. You are correct in your assessment of the album, however.
