This album is one of the best power metal releases i've heard in a long while, and I mean it. It catches you from the start and never lets you go. Awesome up-front guitar playing and great catchy choruses from an astonishing singer. Don't expect anything too complicated and inventive though, this is pretty much basic power/speed metal by the rules. A bit heavier than usual though, and executed with perfection. A serious contender for my album of the year.

I don't quite enjoy pure power metal, but Gus G. is a good guitarist, and he shows it in his solo work in a Firewind album. The song title is "oceans".

Yeah, Allegiance may be my favorite album of the year so far...just an amazing piece of melodic metal. I really dig the new singer (Apollo Papathanasio), and consider this Firewind's best release. And the track with the added female vocals from Tara (Breaking The Silence) is just awesome. Another interesting thing is the instrumental, which Gus includes on every Firewind album, and is this time a slow, sweet number...the others have been shredders...but it's interesting to hear the other side of the coin, and it turned out great.
