Hi,

first time i have to mix a whole song and would like to know what you think about that snippet below. I cant really judge it cos i mixed it on my PC's loudspeakers :)loco:) and rather midclass headphones.

Thanks in advance!

cool, thanks. i think something with the mids might be fucked up, but i'll work on it tomorrow and post an update.

sounding really good man!

the vocals aren't sitting correctly yet. maybe give them just a tad more verb/delay
and I'd try to get that kick at tad more space in the mix.

and I think you're right about the mids being a little weird. it's mostly annoying in the beginning of the bit.

First mix?

haha nice pic! :D
yeah believe it or not, its one of ten songs my band and i recorded, and it is a premiere for all of us. I did a rough mix of some of the other songs, but this one is the first one to be finished. Otherwise i have no recording/mixing whatever experience, but im reading and learning multiple hours per day

above 400 hz everything seems quiet good, but below its really empty and hollow sounding.
id recommend you get someone stem master the songs, before you release them! ;-)

i have to admit i used a little bit of matching eq on the stereo bus, but nothing more than +/- 2db. But in fact it reduced the area from ~160 to 400 a bit. Perhaps the matching eq wasnt the best idea, i dunno. Here it is without it:

and @ dcb and others, at which instrument should i work below 400 hz? On everything or is there one special you would suggest?

Thanks for the help, i really appreciate!
