FIRST MIX PLEASE LISTEN

Hey guys ive been up with this site for a while now months now and im only 15 dont laugh its me playing guitar and drums its a verse in my bands new song i tracked everything . .... . i got a little scratch mix on this link but when i was encoding the track its messed up teh quality quite a bit and the toms were placed by accident i had no time to take them out there relli loud and boomy its all good please let me no what u guys think ..

Yeah, good for a first mix. Better then my first. That said, I don't know where to start on how to make it better, maybe a bass.

Hey Andrew,

That's a good attempt at a first mix. Rather than asking for feedback at this point, I think you could benefit from just absorbing the well of knowledge in this place and applying it to your mixing.

Read around a bit and see what other people are doing with their mixing, then do some trial and error with your own projects. After you've come to a level where you don't think you can excel yourself, start asking for feedback.

Also 2 other suggestions that are unrelated to the mix:

1) It may help to post this in the correct section of the forum next time.
2) Dropping the tryhard band photo would be a real improvement!

I think the overheads could be a bit louder honestly. Maybe try using a sm57 next time!

I didnt have over heads at the time i extracted that from teh snare mic and then threw a hi pass filter on it ?
