"The dog, a female Maltese and terrier mix, is between 9 months and 1 year old... Popcorn has an extra, or supernumerary, leg on her left back side. It is about 80 percent complete, with a femur, a tibia and one toenail. The other leg is normal, but it has been pushed to the side by the extra bones... Because of the unusual bone structure, the veterinarians may end up removing both back left legs, leaving the five-legged dog with just three."

what? no!

they're crazy! what are they thinking!?

don't they know that 5 legs is better than 3!? 5 legs is special, 3 legs is just a lack of a leg, which could happen to anyone/anydog.

do you think all legs are functional?

also, did you notice that a lot of dog's butts look like thanksgiving turkeys? my cocker spaniel's does, especially if you cover everything else (with maybe a sheet, or pillow) leaving only the butt-turkey part visible.

i was thinking that maybe you used this covering method on this 5-legged maltese, it would look like an extra-special/deformed small turkey.
