I don't know that band, and I haven't listened to the songs but I just recently saw that on the front page of my iTunes store... So they've released a cover of the entire album!
What do you guys think?
I personally think you shouldn't touch such a mega-classic... :err: Seriously.. Don't have people any respect anymore these days!? One song, ok. But the whole record?!

On my first trip to utah (god, if only I'd known then that I'd end up living in this shit hole), on 11/02/98, I saw phish cover Dark Side in it's entirety during their second set. Still my favorite phish set of all time, they gave their all on that and I enjoy bootlegs of that second set more than I like the original album.

So yeah, bands can cover it.

Les Claypool's Frog Brigade covering Animals is better than the original.

When I was maybe 20, my friend had his birthday party at one of their shows and I went along. It was the shit, all they did was play Pink Floyd all night.

Also, did they shorten the name officially? When I saw them, they were going by "Colonel Les Claypool's Fearless Flying Frog Brigade". I even got a sticker with that whole phrase on it. It seems now it's been changed.

Nah, just refered to as the Frog Brigade by fans. Gotta keep it short, and there's too many of his projects to keep track of...

Oysterhead
Colonel Claypool's Bucket of Bernie Brains
Colonel Les Claypool's Fearless Flying Frog Brigade
Primus
Les Claypool
Sausage
Les Claypool's Fancy Band
Les Claypool's Fancy Trio
Les Claypool and The Holy Mackerel

And Electric Apricot (I say it counts).

Pain in the ass to keep track of them all!

Edit: Changed them to order by rank.

Yeah I was never sure about that. The first covers CD I think has the whole thing on it, but then the second set (the entire Animals album cover, which I assume was released at the same time) has the shortened name. Well actually I think it says something like "Les Claypool's Frog Brigade."

Then they put out the studio album which is just "The Les Claypool Frog Brigade." Slightly Different.

As a result, I pretty much just refer to band as whatever, but the first name is still the best. Though if you look back at the album cover I'm pretty sure the Colonel and Fearless Flying fonts are much smaller than the Les Claypool's Frog Brigade fonts, SO WHO KNOWS, it's superfluous.

Yes I've thought this over many times before, hah.
