That's right sometimes in Apr of 2004. From what I have heard from talking to some Tampa bands, it will happen and could be bound to be bigger than Miwaukee fest if the response is there.
Jack Koshick and Rob Grohl of the Milwuakee Metalfest have both confirmed there are plans for a Floridia Metalfest, with the same magnitude if not more then Milwuakee. The works are to have it held at Pinella's Expo Center in Pinella's Park (St. Pete area) on March 6th & 7th. The event coordinators have also mentioned that not only will this festival be covered in all of the major Metal publications, it will also be filmed by MTV for Headbanger's Ball. No bands have yet been announced, but organizers and promoters alike are going to try to get some of the Tampa bands in on the show, which include the following:
MORBID ANGEL, DEICIDE, SIX FEET UNDER, CANNIBAL CORPSE, MALEVOLENT CREATION, DIABOLIC, HATE ETERNAL, MONSTROSITY, ICED EARTH and many others. More info will come in the coming months! (To clarify, these bands are NOT confirmed, just some of the Floridian bands that are considered.)
Many European bands will be at the fest as well, so expect this to be big.
In other news, Cannibal Corpse will be hitting the states with Decapitated , Satyricon (probable) and Vile (Marduk was supposed to be there, but since Legion left the band). Another tour is in the works with Hypocrisy and 2 other bands. There are also talks about a US tour that will blow away every fan of the old school DM, but ........ it is not certain yet so I will leave it there. Just wait and see.
