Can anybody give me some florida venues in Orlando and Miami area. I'm going to be in Orlanda over Christmas, and Miami in January and wanted to see if any shows are going on. Thanks.

I don't know any in Miami, but Ft. Lauderdale has metal shows in both The Culture Room and The Revolution.

The Hard Rock in Hollywierd has shows, as well as the Seminole Indian casino out on tamiami trail east of Miami. Ticketbastard will also show you dates and venues, of course.

Miami/Ft. Lauderdale is one big metropolitan area..

Most metal shows are in Ft. Lauderdale, as BlindPanzer pointed out...

But there are a whole bunch of venues in Miami as well.. No metal bands play in it, but they are there! :p

The Jackie Gleason Theater, Section 11, The James Knight Center, Lincoln Theater, Gusman Center, Colony Theater.. Plus the huge arenas/stadiums and such..
If you like other types of music, chances are there are going to be some good shows at some of those venues! :)

And there's a beautiful new venue in Downtown Miami!
It's called Carnival Center for the Performing Arts.. It just opened up! Some good concerts coming up (paco de lucia might interest some metal fans) :)

In Orlando, the Hard Rock Cafe at Universal Studios gets some pretty good shows of the more popular variety. Of the smaller variety, the House of Blues gets most of the metal tours that go through the area (for example, Blind Guardian is there this Thursday).

ooooh, I saw Dream Theater at that Orlando HoB....great show, front row, recorded for HoB's website. Hell, for all I know it might still be on there.

Hey, what about Bicentennial Field?

I saw Metallica there on that weird stadium tour they did in 1994.....I've never seen a show where people could swim ashore and sneak into the show from boats anchored in Biscayne Bay...and don't expect to ever again, either. :D

LOL They still do a few show there, man!
It's the official place for crappy rock festivals! :)

ALL the "radio station rock festivals" are there.. Godsmack just headlined a "christmas chaos" festival there last week! LOL

Whew..... It was a fun show, too...although only Jason deigned to come backstage and hang out with us...yep, it was the beginning of the end for 'Talllica. I remember we were really thirsty and managed to find a water tap in the ground to get water out of, since bottled water was hideously expensive.

That was the show where Jason gave my friend Tim his long-awaited band laminate backstage, with his name on the back of it and everything. From that moment on, Tim was 'officially' a member of the band, and Security couldn't kick us out. :heh:
